Secret Dinner Club

April 2, 2010

One of the best cooks in the area is Lucy Bird, who, as Radish Events have catered for a number of celebrities and events in the area.  She is now setting up a secret supper club, the idea being that you go to a house where she is cooking, take your own wine, and then leave what you think the meal was worth.  There is an existing supper club in Valbonne which I fully intend to join shortly, I know they were holding a Vietnamese night recently and also did a Sunday lunch and some of my friends speak highly of it.

Does anyone know the name of this bush? very sweet smelling

My picture today is again from my garden, as I am trying to find out the name of a sweet smelling local bush which is in full flower now.  Golf is on the agenda for Sunday at Estoril which I haven’t played, unles of course it rains in which case I will be indisposed – the forecast is for storms….wife away for the weekend at an old school juant, so early doors at The Queens Legs beckons, for a pint of guinness – of course I am meeting a client at the same time (You are a client John?) followed perhaps by a pizza at The Valbonnaise, a nice atmospheric, busy and family run restuarant on the north side of Valbonne.  One more picture follows;  More tomorrow when hangover has finally subsided!

The Supper Club in Valbonne is the brain-child of Frances Thompson.

Frances is serving roast pork with crackling and apple sauce at lunch on Sunday, April 11th. There are only a couple of tables left and, if you are quick, you can reserve and get the complete menu by sending an email to supperclub06@live.com

PS The theme dinner from Vietnam was “historic” (to coin a phrase)!
